The International Maritime Institute (IMI) and the International Maritime Club (IMC) successfully concluded Sharjah edition of their collaborative career guidance program, "Mighty Mariner," on March 27th. The Sharjah Maritime Academy (SMA) in Khorfakkan, UAE, proudly hosted the prestigious Mighty Mariner 2025 summit on April 24, 2025. This landmark event was organized under the patronage of SMA in collaboration with the International Maritime Club (IMC), the International Maritime Institute (IMI), and in strategic partnership with Aries Energy and the Aries International Maritime Research Institute (AIMRI).

The transformative summit, held from morning to evening, served as a dynamic platform for aspiring maritime professionals to engage with industry leaders and gain critical insights into the maritime sector. Hosted by Niya Roy, the event highlighted SMA’s commitment to academic excellence and industry-ready training under the leadership of His Excellency Dr. Hashim AlZaabi, Chancellor of SMA.

Distinguished speakers included Sir Sohan Roy, Founder-Chairman of Aries Group, IMC, IMI, AIMRI, and Aries Energy, who delivered a keynote on “Career Design: Shaping Your Future Beyond Academics.” Other notable speakers were Mr. Krishnan Subramaniam, International Vice Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, Ms. Sarah Al Qahtani, Commercial and Operations Manager at Bahri Dry Bulk, Mr. Lazaros Sarris, CEO of Central Ship Management Ltd., and Mr. Ramamurthy Ayyagari, Director of Kyra Global Marine Services DMCC. They shared expertise on career planning, industry adaptation, safety, and seafaring opportunities.

A key highlight was a presentation on AIMRI’s innovative approach to bridging academic learning and real-world application through cutting-edge training and digital platforms. The event facilitated networking, QR-based attendance for certification, and concluded with a ceremony honoring speakers with tokens of appreciation.
